About this grant
The New England Dance Fund awards grants to New England-based choreographers of all genres and backgrounds who identify an opportunity that will advance their careers in dance. New England Dance Fund-supported Tristan Koepke, with Emilia Bruno and Rebecca Steinberg | photo by MK Ford Consistent with NEFA’s obligations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable federal and state laws, it is the policy of NEFA that no applicant for financial award shall be denied participation based on their race, color, national origin, gender or other protected classification. Through the New England Dance Fund, NEFA will award grants of $1,000 directly to choreographers who identify and articulate an important opportunity that will significantly impact aspects of their dance making or advance their role within the regional New England dance landscape. The New England Dance Fund gives priority to timely opportunities with the goal of supporting a diverse group of artists from a range of cultures, disciplines, aesthetics, and career stages throughout all six New England states.

How to apply
Be applying for an opportunity that will take place between November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2027 . Applicants who are NOT eligible to apply are: Choreographers who received support through the New England Dance Fund during the September 2025 deadline round; current grantees must complete their funded activity and take one deadline off before regaining eligibility.
