Since 1925, Guggenheim Fellowships have supported innovative scientists, working in fields such as biology, chemistry, data science, physics, and mathematics. The second-ever Fellowship class included chemist Linus Pauling, who went on to win both the Nob... The second-ever Fellowship class included chemist Linus Pauling, who went on to win both the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1954, as well as the Nobel Peace Prize in 1962. Other notable alumni include Charles David Keeling (a 1961 Fellow in Earth Science) and Barbara McClintock (a 1933 Fellow in Plant Sciences).
