About this grant
BFI Development Funding awards National Lottery support for the formal development of original live action and animation feature projects, from treatments to production-ready screenplays. The programme is run by the BFI.
Eligibility
- ✓ Producers applying via a limited company registered at Companies House, subject to the BFI funding guidelines.
- ✓ Formal development costs for original live action and animation feature filmmaking.

How to apply
Applications are open year-round except for the annual closure window from 1 April to 30 April. Read the full funding guidelines before starting and make sure the production company details are ready.
